Thank you! 11/05/2011

Our second season at the Tower Grove Farmers' Market has come to an end! Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for supporting our business this year. It means the world to us that you make The Big Cheese a part of your Saturday routine, and we are thankful to have spent our Saturday mornings with you. You might miss our sandwiches over the winter, but we will miss your company, your thoughtfulness, and your friendship. See you in 2012!

Tomorrow is our favorite day of the year - the Harvest Festival at the Tower Grove Farmers' Market!

In celebration, we will be serving our classic Big Cheese and two, yes TWO specials!

The Special: Fresh chevre from Heartland Creamery, spring mix from Double Star Farms, and a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette on Companion Bakery's Bakehouse White.

The Extra Special: Caramalized onions (cooked down in red wine, beef stock, thyme and garlic) are paired with Marcoot Jersey Creamery's Cave Aged Heritage on Companion Bakery's Bakehouse white to create a sandwich with all the flavors of a french onion soup. This is the perfect sandwich for a cozy autumn day!

We'll be at the market for extended hours tomorrow, so visit us until 2pm!

It looks as though we'll have a crisp September morning for The Big Cheese tomorrow! We'll be celebrating autumn's approach with one of our favorite sandwiches - fresh chevre from Heartland Creamery, thin slivers of crisp golden delicious apples from Double Star Farms, and a sprinkle of brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Put on your favorite cozy sweater, and join us at the market!

Tomorrow's special features Marcoot Jersey Creamery's dreamy hand-pulled fresh mozzarella and a gorgeous fig & pecan jam from Ivan's Fig Farm on Companion Bakery's Bakehouse White bread. For breakfast, lunch, or your morning snack, it is sure to delight!

As always, our Big Cheese will meet the fancy of those grilled cheese purists, and we know quite a few of you out there! Raw sharp cheddar and Bakehouse White bread make this the sandwich South St. Louis wakes up craving on Saturday mornings!

Visit us today at the Webster Groves Farmers' Market for a delicious special! This week we feature our favorite cheese from Greenwood Farms - Alpenglow. Similar to a gruyere, Alpenglow is a mild, buttery cheese that melts to perfection and pairs beautifully with fruit. This week we offer Alpenglow with dried cherries and a drizzle of honey. One of my favorites!

The market opens at 3 and runs until 7 - hope to see you there!
